Marist Regional College is one of the premier Catholic colleges on the north-west coast of Tasmania. The College required:
- a home theatre of a grand scale
- an AV equipment fitout to create a multi-functional gymnasium
- the conversion of non-functional space into a versatile Performing Arts space.
KWMC equipped a small picture theatre, the Colin Theatre, with a surround sound home theatre system, a data projector and screen, dimmable lighting and an AMX control system. A customised AMX touch panel provides automation and integration of the audio visual equipment.
Recently, the College constructed a new multi-functional area designed to be used for a multitude of activities. The Harcombe Centre is used as a school assembly hall, sporting facility and a community activity space.
The third installation at the College involved converting a non-functional space into a versatile Performing Arts space. Conway Hall has the flexibility to be used as one large performing space or two fully-equipped drama studios, by using removable partitions. KWMC installed theatre drapes and curtain tracking, blackout curtains, dimmers, console speakers, portable staging, lighting bars and a projector and screen. Performances of any scale can now be conducted.
To provide maximum flexibility for a range of educational activities KWMC installed:
- Public Address (PA) system in the main hall and adjoining classrooms
- Projector and large projection screen
- Speakers and 360 degree surround sound, specifically for calling sporting events
- Audio patching from floor boxes to main PA rack
- Lighting grid and theatre lights.
